Jeff East

Jeff East is an American actor and producer for over 55 years. Jeff started his career at the age of fourteen playing the iconic character of Huckleberry Finn in Reader Digest and United Artist Sherman Bros musical Tom Sawyer with Jodie Foster and Johnny Whittaker. He went on to do the classic Huckleberry Finn with Paul Winfield and Harvey Korman. Jeff’s musical talents were not ignored as well he had the band One Way Street and the Planet Band which played at all the venues in Hollywood and San Diego. He also had a record deal with Columbia Records for several recordings.

East was the lead vocals for the cartoon show on CBS Meatballs and Spaghetti. Walt Disney pictures in 1974 put him under contract for the wonderful world of Disney where three films were done The Ghost of Cypress Swamp, Flight of the Grey Wolf, and Return of the Big Cat.

In 1977 Jeff was signed to do Superman the movie to playing the iconic character of the young Clark Kent working with Marlon Brando, Susannah York, Glenn Ford and Phyllis Thaxter. It was the number one box office film for 1978.

In 1979 Jeff portrayed Jack London in Klondike Fever with Rod Steiger and Angie Dickinson and then Joseph the Carpenter in the biblical film for NBC Mary and Joseph a Story of Faith with Blanche Baker and Colleen Dewhurst.
After getting married in 1980 to Lori Gates and architect in Los Angeles he was given two films by Wes Craven Summer of Fear with Linda Blair and The Deadly Blessing with Ernest Borgne and Susan Buckner and Sharon Stone.

In 1983 Jeff did the nuclear disaster film The Day After with Jason Robards and John Lithgow, the outrageous Up the Creek with the crew from animal house and then HBO First Series for cable First and 10 with Delta Burke where he played quarter back Bryce Smith. In 1988 Stan Winston chose Jeff to be the lead with Lance Henriksen in Pumpkinhead.

Jeff did over 100 national commercials for many companies including John Hancock, Fed Ex, Toyota and Pizza Hut.

Jeff also did dozens of Off Broadway shows for theatre in Kansas City and Los Angeles.

In 1992 Jeff produced with Jack Nicholson and co-starred in Blaine Novak’s film Blue Champagne with Johnathan Silverman.

Jeff took a back seat to acting and started his production company Big Bull Productions which has now become the Calm Company LLP with Blaine Novak and Pascale Lambert. Calm Company is a multi-faceted production, literary and distribution company specializing in theatrical and media entertainment. Jeff has several projects in the pipeline including Find Me If You Dare and Terminal Man a miniseries for Netflix. Jeff has many live theatre appearances for the south of France English theatre group as well as many stage appearances in Kansas City and Los Angeles.

Jeff married his business partner Pascale Lambert where they reside in Nice, France.
